Puddles and Poo - a Toddler's Dream
Blog from Tom with contributions from the team.

Today was our last day of children's activities in Uganda, and our second visit to Kahororo Primary School.
There was a little weariness in our demeanour and some empty seats on the bus following minor gastrointestinal inconveniences. Tiredness quickly dissipated as we arrived amidst the familiar cowpats and puddles to find children gathering, the cooking fire smoking, and the PA system belting out children's praise songs and country and western hits. The day ran much more smoothly than the previous one, no downpours, food ready on time.
It's an older group of children, mostly girls' club members from two schools. They seemed to enjoy everything especially skipping, learning and sharing dances and songs, playing all kinds of games and creating banners. They are noticeably more compliant than kids at home, and needing encouragement to make their own choices about the various activities rather than waiting for instructions from adults.
We have learned so much, but our wonderful local staff also thanked us for reminding them of the benefit of time to play. We enjoyed a very Ugandan meal with them on our last night in town. Though it's a cliché, we leave a bit of our heart when we go.
Words of the day from the team: Jerusalema (something to do with TikTok), Celebrate, Tired, Hot, Joy, Friendship, Happiness, Satisfied, Success, Cowpat, Fun.
