We Love a Bit of Takeway

16th Dec. Barbara & Team
We're sitting in a very pretty garden having our last African tea, chatting & playing cards before heading to the airport. We've spent the day shopping, relaxing & eating, & managed to meet up with Gertrude as well as Patrick.
Once again I'm astounded by the warmth & generosity of all the Ugandan staff we've met. Their love & compassion for vulnerable children combined with their impressive hard work & desire to serve their local communities has challenged & inspired me. Despite flagging today, I'm so glad I came, & am once again going home determined to support the work of Global Care to the best of my ability. The joy & gratitude of children at activity days left us humbled & blessed.
I asked the team what they're taking home from the trip....
- a changed perspective on the way other people live
- a better understanding of Global Care's work in Uganda
- a kinder heart
- a real image of Uganda, it does rain in Africa, and I'm leaving behind the stereotypes
- new friendships & getting to know everyone
- a cap
- to be grateful for the basics like electricity, water & a house to live in
- friends
- fresh vision
- heat rash, insect bites, two cows & five goats from the side of the road!!

It's been an adventure. What a fabulous team. Hopefully in the UK tomorrow morning.

Thanks for all your support.

Happy Christmas!
